Slag was a prisoner of the New York Maximum Security Penitentiary.
When S.D. "Snake" Plissken was captured by the Duke of New York, he was forced into the ring to fight Slag to the death. Although Slag consistently had the upper hand, Plissken managed to swing a baseball bat with a nail driven through it into Slag's abdomen, then into the back of Slag's head, killing him.
